Section 1
Sinner should move through with relative ease. He may have a challenge in the second round with former Wimbledon finalist and fellow Italian, Berrettini. However, if he continues to play at the level he has been at all year he should be just fine. Ben Shelton has been a disappointment on grass. When watching him you get the feeling that he just does not feel comfortable on grass. I’m predicting another early exit from him to a fellow American. He is so streaky though and I could definitely still see him making a run. I’ll be rooting for him regardless.
Section 2
Not too much excitement in section 2. The best first round matchup should be Mannarino vs. Monfils. Both are heading towards the end of the careers and have dazzled fans for the past decade with their unique and fun styles. I hope to see another battle between two older players in Dimitrov vs. Wawrinka who both rock the one hander. While grass is not Medvedev’s best surface he should win his first few rounds.
Section 3
Not much to talk about here. The defending champion will most likely roll through this section of the draw.
Section 4
The newest top-ranked American and Queen’s Club Champion will hopefully dominate this section. He may face trouble against Bublik who is a strong grass court player, but I predict Paul will prevail. I also think Ruud will unfortunately have another Wimbledon early exit. He just isn’t a grass court player. (He’s actually allergic to grass1)
Section 5
Rublev should come out of this group victorious. I am feeling Korda will defeat Tsitsipas in the third round.
Section 6
This section of the draw is loaded with talent, however, I think the top seeds will prevail. I know it’s boring. I have loved how Draper has been playing and am rooting for him to get past Zverev. However, Zverev has just looked too strong all year. I would not be surprised to see Draper make a deep run, but Zverev is the right pick.
Section 7
Hubi will win this section of the draw. He played great in Halle and is just an awesome grass court player. Of course, I had to have Murray winning a couple of rounds in his final Wimbledon.
Section 8
I really hope Eubanks has another run in him and can defeat the struggling Holger Rune. As bad as he has looked this year I cannot pick against Djokovic, at least not this early in the tournament. This is his surface and center court is his domain.
4th Round to Finals
Not too many bold predictions here. I think Carlos will reach another final and defeat Sinner again. He is oozing with confidence and has already conquered Wimbledon before.
I could not pick Djokovic to make the finals again. He just has not looked good all year and is coming off a major injury he suffered just a few weeks ago. I was torn between Rublev and Hurkacz, but decided to pick Hubi. I loved his Halle performance and thought he was so close to beating Djokovic at last year’s Wimbledon. This is the major where he finally comes through!
Finals: Hurkacz vs. Alcaraz
Two of the most likeable guys on tour will (hopefully) be facing off in this year’s Wimbledon final. My pick to win is Alcaraz 7-6 (4) 6-4 3-6 7-6 (5). He will capture his fourth major at just 21.
Bonus Pick for the Women’s Draw: Mirra Andreeva
